Meet The Team

Anne Brobst, OD

Dr. Brobst was one of the founding members of the Johns Creek Research Clinic. She brings over 20 years of experience as a practitioner and clinical investigator in vision care research projects focused primarily on optimizing contact lens materials and designs.

She graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Member of the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Brobst is married and has an active high school son. Outside of work she enjoys being outdoors, hiking, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves and The Ohio State Buckeyes with her family.

Michael Hung, OD

Dr. Hung joined the JCRC team in 2018, bringing with him a diverse clinical background in comprehensive optometry, contact lenses, refractive surgery, ocular disease treatment, and surgical management. His past clinical trial experience includes ocular pharmaceutical and surgical device research. Currently, Dr. Hung’s primary role at JCRC is as a Clinical Investigator working primarily on early stage contact lens development.

Dr. Hung graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry and completed a Residency in Ocular Disease at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and Board Certified through the American Board of Optometry.

Dr. Hung is married with two beautiful young daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and baking with his family, golfing, and hiking the great outdoors.

Katherine Lee, OD

Dr. Lee has always had an interest in contact lenses and loves working with the JCRC team. She graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Polymer Engineering. Prior to attending optometry school at SUNY College of Optometry, she worked at Alcon in R&D in the Biomaterials group. She completed her residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses and Refractive/Ocular Surgery at Georgia Eye Partners. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Lee is married with two boys. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Shiraz Khun Haron, PHD

Shiraz is a Medical Scientist and Clinical Research Professional with more than 10 years clinical and basic research experience. She grew up in Northern Israel and moved to the US in 2016. She graduated from Tel Aviv University with a PhD degree in Physiology and Pharmacology, a Master’s degree from the Hebrew University in Human Genetics specializing in retinal development, and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.

She has always been passionate about research and enjoys being a part of clinical research, bringing innovative treatment and devices that can improve people’s lives.

When Shiraz is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She also loves riding motorcycles, kayaking, and woodworking.

Toya Ryans

As the newest addition to the JCRC, Toya joined in April 2022. She is enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow with an already exceptional team. She started in the optometry/ophthalmology field in 1996. She has worked in a number of practices and engaged in several aspects of patient care. She spent 16 years as the Lead Surgical Technician assisting in refractive eye surgery to include, LASIK, PRK, Cataract, Crosslinking and Intacs.

In her spare time, Toya loves to spend time with her family and watch various sports. She grew up travelling the world with her family while her father served in the US Army. She has one teenage daughter and is married to her husband who is also a US Army Veteran.

Tammi Lacy

As one of the founding members of the JCRC, Tammi joined the team in January 2017. Tammi has over 10 years’ experience as an optician, having taught countless new contact lens wearers to properly manage their lenses. In her 20+ years customer service experience, she has managed trade shows, software user events, and many, many office holiday and birthday parties. She holds a degree in Web Design and is self-trained in design and photo editing software, a skill which she uses to design all of the marketing materials for the clinic.

As the resident ‘unicorn’ of the office, Tammi brings a bit of sunshine to the clinic. Our subjects look forward to her calls and to seeing her smiling face when they arrive. She is proud to call JCRC home and loves working with her team.

An artist at heart, Tammi loves writing fiction, photography, crafting, and cake decorating. When she’s not being a creative genius, she and her husband of over 20 years spend their time doing home projects and hanging out with their kitties.

Ysmil Contreras, MD

Ysmil joined the JCRC team in November 2021 as clinic manager. She has served as a Research Director and has over 19 years of broad clinical experience in diverse therapeutic research disciplines. Ysmil has experience in various functional areas, including operations, regulatory and budget, compliance, site management, medical/clinical sciences, data management and supplies in Phases I – IV of clinical trial development.

Ysmil is a Certified Project Manager (ACRP-PM®), Clinical Research Professional (ACRP-CP®) and Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC®) with a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Ysmil is married with a charming son. In her free time, she loves cooking, traveling, spending time with her family, their dog, and friends. Ysmil enjoys volunteering at her son's elementary school as often as her busy schedule will allow.
